ACDS Foundation Annual Appeal 2025

For almost 60 years, ACDS has been committed to supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome and autism, from the earliest stages of life through adulthood.

As we look ahead to 2026, we continue to focus on our mission as a dedicated provider of residential care for adults with developmental disabilities. ACDS provides residential services for 55 adults, age 21 and over, in eight Individual Residential Alternatives and one apartment.

Since our group homes opened 25 years ago, the individuals we serve have had wonderful experiences in the homes. During this time, however, the wear and tear on the homes has continued to grow. But there is no current funding source for general enhancement and improvement of the homes. As such, we are seeking donations to improve the living conditions for the residents in our homes.

We are focused on enhancing the safety, comfort, and quality of life for residents with developmental disabilities. The scope of work includes repairs and upgrades to essential living spaces such as kitchens and bathrooms. Several kitchens need new cabinetry, flooring, and fixtures. There are bathrooms that require remodeling. Some existing decks require reconstruction, including new framing. Some roofs must be replaced. Improvements involve replacing outdated fixtures, improving accessibility features, and ensuring all areas meet ever-changing health and safety standards.
